A music video is incredibly important to any artist in the music industry today and what better way to gain publicity than to endorse or feature a popular brand within the video such as a famous car and brand?
The Sugababes have done just that by featuring a '67 Pontiac Firebird in one of their latest videos.
The car is an Icon with American Muscle Cars across the pond in the States with its feature in such films as Smokey and the Bandit and Knight Rider. The car is as much of an Icon as the band if not bigger which will attract appeal with a new demographic as well as the current groupies.
Recent blockbuster Iron Man was also renound for its use of placement in the film regularly featuring Dr Pepper, Oracle and the Audi R8 Quattro.
A particular favourite of mine was the music video for the song Ghost Town by The Specials which was huge in the late 70’s and saw the band driving around in a classic Vauxhall PA Cresta while reciting the lyrics to their trippy song.
The band reached number one with this song making the video a hit and creating a lot of attention for the brand and car.
The band have recently been touring around the country which sees the group teaming up with various other artists such as Lily Allen - Long Live Ska!
