July 2010 saw the sales of new cars fall for the first time in a year it has been reported. New car registrations have gone down this month, 13.2% difference in last year’s numbers which has been put down to the removal of the scrappage scheme teamed with the fragile economy in the UK.
With this in mind however, car sales are still 15% higher than July 2009 and it is expected that 2010 will mean 2,000,000 + cars will be sold in the UK! Amongst some of the best sellers of July 2010 were; the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus which is great news for Ford Motors.
The planned rise in VAT is thought to help with car sales for 2010 with the purchase of cars brought forward to avoid the extra costs. I guess the proof will be in the pudding, or should I say the sales. Watch this space for my next update…
